We started Sorom because we believe travel should be one of the best parts of life. And honestly? We think the way most people travel could be so much better.

Why We’re Obsessed with Travel
Travel changes people. Seriously.
There’s something about landing in a place where you don’t know anyone, where the signs are in a different language, where everything is unfamiliar, and figuring it out anyway. It builds confidence. It opens your mind. It reminds you how big and beautiful and weird the world actually is.
Travel can create memorable moments: exploring an unfamiliar neighborhood, meeting people at a hostel or watching a sunrise somewhere new. We want Sorom to make it easier to plan and share those experiences.
We’ve also had the other kind of travel moments. The lonely ones. The scary ones. The “this would be so much better if I had someone to share it with” ones.
And that’s what got us thinking.
The Problem No One Was Really Solving
Here’s what we kept running into (and maybe you have too):
Solo travel is amazing, but it can also be isolating. You want the freedom to do your own thing, but eating dinner alone every night gets old. You want to share experiences, but your friends back home don’t quite get it.
Finding travel companions is weirdly hard. Your best friend might be terrible to travel with. Your schedule might not match anyone else’s. And meeting random people from the internet to travel with? That feels sketchy. (We wrote a whole guide on how to find travel companions.)
Travel planning is fragmented. You’re juggling ten different apps, three browser tabs, a shared Google Doc that nobody updates, and group chats that never reach decisions.
Safety is always in the back of your mind. Especially if you’re traveling solo. Especially in unfamiliar places. You want to be adventurous, but you also want to come home.

Want company for a food crawl, a museum walk, or a morning hike? Host a Circle with a time, meeting point, and spot cap, or join one hosted by fellow travelers and locals nearby. Every Circle gets its own group chat, and joining is free on every plan.
Trip Builder: AI Itineraries in Minutes
Tell Sorom your vibe, dates, and must-sees, and the AI trip planner builds a day-by-day plan, across several cities if you want. Refine it in a chat until it fits, then share it with your companions. Check the current trial offer and plan limits in the mobile app.
Collaborative Trip Planning
Plan trips with your travel companions in one place. Shared itineraries. Price Check requests for an available alternative quote. Everyone on the same page. No more endless group chats trying to make decisions.
Maya AI Travel Advisor
Need help planning? Maya is your AI travel advisor. Access and message allowances depend on the current mobile plan and trial offer. Tell her where you want to go and what you like, and she’ll build itineraries, suggest restaurants, find activities, and manage your trip through natural conversation. She even learns your preferences over time.
Price Check
Found a great hotel deal? Submit it through Price Check for a travel agent to review. An available quote may have different prices or terms; a lower rate is not guaranteed. Works for hotels, transfers, and packages. It’s like having a travel agent in your pocket.
Safety Features That Actually Help
We take safety seriously. GPS check-ins so someone knows you’re okay. Emergency contacts who can be alerted if something goes wrong. Optional identity verification to help assess a profile, without guaranteeing someone’s behavior. Meetup verification PINs so you can confirm it’s actually your travel companion showing up.
These mobile safety tools support precautions but do not guarantee assistance or replace local emergency services. Configure your contacts and permissions before you need them.
A Real Travel Community

Why We Think This Matters
We believe travel can create opportunities for curiosity, connection and new experiences. Those opportunities are different for everyone.
But too often, travel is held back by obstacles that shouldn’t exist:
