Your answers power our ConneXions matching algorithm, ensuring you're paired with compatible travel companions who share your interests, pace, and adventure level. You can retake the quiz anytime from your ConneXions profile settings.

You can set your preferences for which match types you're interested in from Settings > Matching Preferences.

ConneXion request expiry depends on your plan:

• Free: Requests expire after 48 hours if not accepted
• Monthly: Requests expire after 7 days
• Annual: Requests never expire

You will see a countdown timer on users' profile cards so you know when they're about to expire. If a request expires, you can send a new one (counts against your weekly limit).

Compatibility scores (Monthly & Annual feature) range from 0-100%:

• 90-100%: Exceptional match - very similar travel styles and interests
• 75-89%: Strong match - compatible on most key factors
• 60-74%: Good match - some differences that could complement each other
• Below 60%: May have significant differences in travel preferences

Tap on the score to see a breakdown of what's driving the compatibility rating.

Yes! Go to Settings > Matching Preferences to customize:

• Age range of potential matches
• Gender preferences
• Maximum distance for Live matches
• Preferred group sizes
• Travel budget range
• Languages spoken
• Enhanced verification filter (Annual subscribers only)

To unmatch: Open the chat with the person, tap the menu icon (three dots) in the top right, and select "Unmatch." This removes the connection and deletes your chat history. You can also unmatch a user from the Active tab of My ConneXions page by tapping the menu icon on their profile card, and selecting "Unmatch."

To block: Same menu, select "Block & Report." Blocked users cannot see your profile, send you requests, or contact you in any way. You can manage blocked users in Settings > Privacy > Blocked Users.

Live ConneXions is a real-time location sharing feature that shows nearby travelers on an interactive map. It's completely opt-in: you choose when to make yourself visible. Start a session, browse nearby travelers, view compatibility scores on their profile preview cards, and connect spontaneously. Only visible to other travelers who are also in an active Live ConneXions session.

Session durations depend on your plan:

• Free: 15 minutes, 30 minutes, or 1 hour
• Monthly & Annual: Up to 4 hours

All sessions auto-expire at the end of the selected duration. You can end a session early at any time.

Yes, safety is built into every aspect of Live ConneXions:

• Completely opt-in: Your location is never shared unless you actively start a session
• Time-limited: Sessions automatically expire, so there is no indefinite location sharing
• Block enforcement: Blocked users can never see you, even during live sessions
• Matched travelers only: Only visible to travelers who also have active sessions

Circles are Meetup-style group activities hosted by travelers and locals. A host picks an activity type, time, exact meeting point, and spot cap, and other travelers join in. Joining a Circle is free on every plan. Hosting is capped by plan: Free members can host 1 active circle, Monthly 3, and Annual unlimited.

Every Circle gets an auto-created group chat so the group can coordinate, and attendees can rate the host after the event. Browse Circles on the ConneXions discovery tab or spot them on the Live map.

Once someone accepts your ConneXion request (or you accept theirs), a chat is automatically created. Go to the Messages tab to find your conversations. We suggest starting with a friendly greeting and mentioning something specific from their profile or your shared travel interests.

Yes! Tap the attachment icon in the chat to share:

• Photos from your gallery or camera
• Videos (up to 3 minutes)
• Interesting journals related to your trip
• Itinerary items from your trips

All media is encrypted and stored securely. You can also share your Moments directly to chats.

Yes, read receipts are on by default. You'll see a checkmark when your message is delivered and a double checkmark when it's read. You can disable read receipts in Settings > Privacy > Read Receipts. Note: If you turn them off, you also won't see when others read your messages.

To mute: Open the chat, tap the group name at the top, then toggle "Mute Notifications." You can mute for 1 hour, 8 hours, 1 day, or indefinitely.

To leave: Same menu, scroll down and tap "Leave Group." You'll need to be re-invited to rejoin. Note: You cannot leave a group if you're the only admin - transfer admin rights first.

Long-press on a message you sent and select "Delete." Choose "Delete for me" to hide the message from your own view at any time, or "Delete for everyone" within 15 minutes of sending to remove it for all chat members. After 15 minutes, you can still delete for yourself.

Go to the Trips tab and tap "Create Itinerary." Enter your destination, travel dates, and give it a name. Then add a budget, specify if it is a group trip or solo trip, and add a description. You can then add items day-by-day including flights, lodging, activities, restaurants, and transportation. Invite your travel companions to collaborate in real-time.

You can add 8 item types to any Sorom itinerary:

• Flights: Link to live flight tracking (Monthly & Annual)
• Lodging: Hotels, hostels, and vacation rentals
• Activities: Tours, attractions, and experiences
• Restaurants: Dining reservations and food spots
• Car Rentals: Pickup and drop-off details

Invite travel companions to your itinerary by tapping "Invite" and selecting from your matches or sharing a link. The itinerary creator is automatically designated as the group admin. All collaborators can:

• See all itinerary items
• Comment on suggestions in the related group chat
• Vote on proposed activities
• See changes in real-time
• See total itinerary cost and what they owe. Bill can be split either evenly or based on what each person voted for. The admin controls how the bill is split.

The itinerary creator can set permissions to control who can edit vs. view only. If the itinerary creator is a premium member, they can share offline access with up to 3 other members.

When you can't decide between options, create a vote! Add multiple suggestions (e.g., 3 different restaurants) and have collaborators vote on their preferences. All collaborators can see the voting status, who voted on what, and whose votes are still pending. Great for democratic trip planning!

Add expenses to your itinerary and specify who paid and who's splitting the cost. Sorom automatically calculates who owes whom in real time as expenses are added. Supports multiple currencies, and every traveler sees totals in their own preferred currency.

Receipt scanning is a premium feature (Monthly and Annual). Photograph a receipt and AI reads the merchant, amount, currency, and date for you. The expense is added to your trip ledger and can be split evenly or with custom amounts per traveler.

Every traveler on the trip sees totals in their own preferred currency, so nobody has to do exchange-rate math at dinner.

Yes. From the companion picker you can invite anyone by email address, even if they don't have Sorom yet. They receive a branded email invitation with a link to your trip, and when they sign up they join the itinerary automatically as a travel companion.

Yes! Tap the share icon on any itinerary to export as:

• PDF: Beautiful formatted document perfect for printing
• Calendar: Add all events to Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, or Outlook
• Link: Share a view-only link with anyone (they don't need the app)

Tap "Book" on the nav bar. Choose your request type: Hotel, Transfer, or Package. Submit the price you found on any OTA (Booking.com, Expedia, etc.) along with your travel details. Our travel agents will review your request and respond with a matched or better price. Free users can reserve with 250 points each. Monthly subscribers get 10 reservations/month. Annual subscribers get unlimited reservations.

All payments are processed securely through Stripe. We accept credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover). Free users can submit Price Check requests and complete reservations using 250 points each. Monthly subscribers get 10 reservations per month. Annual subscribers get unlimited reservations. We never store your card details.

5,000 points = 1 year of Annual membership. Monthly and Annual subscribers also earn 1 point per dollar spent on completed Price Check bookings and can redeem 100 points for a dollar off reservations. Open the app side menu, select "Points" to see your balance and redeem options.

To make changes or cancel a reservation, go to your reservation detail and tap "Manage Your Trip." From there, you can submit change requests (dates, guest details, or cancellation) which are reviewed by our travel agents. Cancellation policies vary by booking and will be clearly displayed before you confirm your reservation.

Once your reservation is confirmed, you'll see a detailed reservation screen with your confirmation number, hotel details, and booking policies. Each booking is assigned a Sorom SRM-XXXXXXXX reference number and a travel supplier confirmation number. You can also tap "Add to Itinerary" to link the booking to your trip plan.

Monthly and Annual subscribers can add flights by going to any itinerary and tapping "Add Flight." Enter your flight number (e.g., AA1234) and date. We'll automatically pull in departure/arrival times, terminals, and gate information. You can also forward booking confirmation emails to your unique Sorom address to auto-import flights and other reservations into your itinerary.

Flight data is refreshed every hour. On the day of travel, updates are pushed in real-time when there are changes to gate, departure & arrival times, or flight status.

• Green: On time - departing/arriving as scheduled
• Yellow: Delayed - departure or arrival time has changed
• Red: Cancelled or major disruption - check with airline

Tap on any flight for detailed information including delay reasons when available.

Yes! You'll receive push notifications for:

• Gate changes

Every member can try Maya: Free members get a 10-message lifetime trial, and Monthly and Annual subscribers get generous daily allowances. When Maya wants to make changes to your trip (like adding an activity or modifying your itinerary), she shows you an action preview card first. The AI Trip Builder turns your travel mood into a complete day-by-day itinerary. Pick mood board images, add must-visit places, and Maya generates a full plan, including multi-city trips with automatic transfers between cities. It factors in companion compatibility, verifies suggestions against community-loved places, and lets you refine the draft conversationally until it feels right.

Free members get 1 free generation with conversational refine on that draft. Monthly and Annual members get unlimited generations.

Go to Settings > Safety > Emergency Contacts. Add up to 5 trusted contacts with their name, email address, phone number, and relationship. These contacts will be notified if you trigger a panic alert or miss multiple check-ins. They don't need the Sorom app: they'll receive emails, and SMS notifications if you are an Annual subscriber.

Schedule check-ins for peace of mind during your trip. Set a time (e.g., "Check in by 10 PM tonight") and Sorom will remind you. If you don't check in within 10 minutes after your scheduled time, we'll send a follow-up. After 2 missed check-ins, your emergency contacts are automatically notified with your last known location.

Yes, with a premium plan. Turn on the safety toggle for any itinerary item and Sorom creates start and end GPS check-ins that follow your schedule automatically. They're off by default, times are prefilled from each item and fully editable, and active check-ins are protected by your safety PIN.

The panic button (accessible by pressing and holding the SOS button from the Panic screen or via the home screen widget) immediately:

• Sends SMS alerts to all your emergency contacts with your GPS location (Annual subscribers)
• Sends Email alerts to all your emergency contacts with your GPS location
• Provides one-tap access to local emergency services (911 equivalent)

You will get a confirmation prompt when the panic button is triggered. This is to reduce the chance of accidental activation.

On iOS, yes. Set up the Siri Shortcut from the Safety Hub and your custom phrase opens a 3-second tap-to-cancel countdown that fires the panic alert. The same countdown is also available from the app-icon long-press shortcut and the SOS button on the home-screen safety widget, so help is reachable even when you can't navigate the app.

Emergency audio recording is a premium safety feature (Monthly and Annual). When you trigger the panic button or enter your duress PIN, Sorom can covertly record audio and share a secure download link with your emergency contacts.

It requires your explicit consent to enable, and it cannot be discovered or stopped by someone forcing you to open the app, so the recording keeps running exactly when you need it most.

When meeting someone from Sorom for the first time in person, generate a Meetup PIN from the active ConneXions user menu. Both parties enter a 6-digit PIN when you meet up. This confirms you're both who you say you are, automatically creates check-ins with your preferred interval, and logs the meetup location. It's optional but highly recommended for first meetings.

Verify your identity to get an orange checkmark on your profile. Go to Settings > Verification and follow the prompts to:

• Upload a government-issued ID (passport, driver's license)
• Take a live selfie that matches your ID photo

Verification is processed by Medallion (our trusted verification partner) typically within 24 hours. Your ID documents are encrypted and deleted after verification. Identity verification is optional and only available for Annual subscribers. However, you must first be verified in order to filter ConneXions by verification status.

No. Emergency contacts receive alerts via email and SMS to their phone number. They'll get an email or a text message with your situation and a link to view your last logged location on a map (no app or account required). We recommend letting your emergency contacts know you've added them to Sorom.

Go to the Journal tab and tap the + button. Add photos, write about your experience, tag your location, link an itinerary, and mention travel companions. Journal entries are saved to your trip and can be made public (visible to all Sorom users), shared with matches only, or kept private. Monthly and Annual members can also add videos (up to 3 minutes each).

Journals are permanent entries that tell your travel story. They're saved forever and organized by trip.

Moments are ephemeral posts that disappear after 48 hours - like stories. Perfect for sharing quick updates, restaurant recommendations, or real-time travel highlights without cluttering your permanent journal.

When creating any post, choose visibility:

• Public: Anyone on Sorom can see it
• Followers: Only people who follow you can see it
• Private: Only you can see it (personal diary mode)

You can change visibility of existing journals anytime from the journals menu.

Yes! Tap the location icon when creating a post to tag where you are. You can use your current GPS location or search for a place by name. Location tags help other travelers discover great spots and are shown on your trip map.

Interesting Places is a community-driven discovery feature where travelers share hidden gems, unique landmarks, and off-the-beaten-path spots they've found around the world. Think of it as a travel community atlas: browse 13 categories of places on an interactive map, see what fellow travelers have discovered, and contribute your own finds.

Categories include historical sites, street art, viewpoints, hidden cafes, nature spots, local markets, and more.

Tap the map on the Home tab, then tap the + button to submit a new place. Add a name, description, category, location, and at least one photo. Your submission goes through a brief moderation review to ensure quality. You can have up to 5 pending submissions at a time.

All Interesting Places submissions are reviewed by our team to ensure accuracy and quality. If your submission is rejected, you'll receive feedback on why and can resubmit with corrections. Community photos added to existing places are also moderated. Approved places go through an annual re-review cycle.

Yes! You earn 50 Sorom Points for each approved Interesting Places submission. Points can be redeemed for Annual membership (5,000 points = 1 year) or applied as credit toward Price Check reservations.

Yes! When viewing any Interesting Place, tap "Add to Itinerary" to include it as an activity in one of your trip itineraries. This makes it easy to build trips around the hidden gems you discover.

Tap the map on the Home tab to see Interesting Places in your area. Places are clustered on the map for easy browsing, so zoom in to see individual pins. You can also browse by category. Tap any place to see details, photos from the community, comments, and how many travelers have visited.

Go to Settings > Account > Change Password. Enter your current password, then your new password twice to confirm.

Go to Settings > Privacy > Profile Visibility and select "Private." With a private account:

• Only your matches can see your full profile
• You won't appear in search results
• You won't appear in Live Matches
• Others can still send you ConneXion requests if you have ConneXions enabled

Go to Settings > Privacy > Download My Data. We'll compile all your personal data into a downloadable file including your profile info, messages, journal entries, and activity history. The export is ready within 48 hours and you'll receive an email notification. The download link expires after 7 days.

Go to Settings > Account > Delete Account. You'll need to enter your password to confirm. Account deletion is permanent and removes:

• Your profile and all personal information
• All your messages (you'll be removed from group chats)
• Your journal entries and moments
• Itineraries you created (collaborators keep their copies)

Active subscriptions will be cancelled. You have 30 days to recover your account by logging back in before permanent deletion.

Go to Settings > Privacy > Analytics & Personalization. You can disable:

• Usage analytics: How you use the app (helps us improve)
• Personalized recommendations: Match suggestions based on behavior
• Crash reporting: Automatic bug reports

Disabling these won't affect core functionality but may reduce the quality of recommendations.

Go to Settings > Subscription and choose Monthly ($19.99/mo) or Annual ($89.99/yr). Review the benefits and tap "Subscribe." Payment is processed through your App Store (iOS) or Play Store (Android) account. Your features activate immediately after purchase.

Sorom offers two paid plans: Monthly at $19.99/month and Annual at $89.99/year (about $7.50/month). Monthly includes Maya AI, flight tracking, receipt scanning, Email Import, offline access, advanced filters, and more. Annual is the best value and adds exclusive features like SMS safety alerts, Medallion identity verification, unlimited match requests, unlimited reservations, and the smart packing list generator. Both plans auto-renew unless cancelled.

Subscriptions are managed through your device's app store:

• iOS: Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions > Sorom > Cancel
• Android: Play Store > Menu > Subscriptions > Sorom > Cancel

You'll keep your paid features until your current billing period ends. We cannot cancel subscriptions on your behalf due to app store policies.

When your subscription expires, you'll return to the Free tier:

• Match requests limited to 7/week with 48-hour expiry
• Maya AI daily message allowance removed
• Flight tracking disabled
• Email Import disabled
• Receipt scanning disabled
• Price Check reservations require 250 pts each
• Compatibility scores hidden

Your data, matches, and conversations are preserved. You can resubscribe anytime to restore paid features.

Refund requests are handled by Apple or Google, not by Sorom directly:

Refunds are typically granted within 14 days of purchase if you haven't used paid features extensively. Each platform has their own refund policies.
