That’s the question that gnaws at every traveler. You can spend hours cross-checking Expedia, Hotels.com, Agoda, and five other sites. Or you can ask a travel agent to review the offer and check whether an alternative quote is available.

That’s what Price Check is.

What Is Price Check?

Price Check is Sorom’s agent-managed booking service. You submit an existing travel offer for an agent to review. The agent may return a quote with different pricing or terms; neither availability nor a lower rate is guaranteed.

Here’s the flow:

  1. You find a price on any OTA: Booking.com, Expedia, Hotels.com, wherever
  2. You submit it through Sorom with the details (hotel, dates, price, link)
  3. Choose your type: Hotel, Transfer, or Package
  4. Our travel agents review it and send an available quote. Prices and availability vary; a lower rate is not guaranteed.
  5. Review and book in the mobile app. Check the quote’s total price, payment timing, cancellation terms and account requirements before accepting. Payment is processed through Stripe; a request alone does not create a reservation.

That’s it. You bring the price, we try to beat it.

Compare the Same Stay, Not Just the Headline Price

A useful hotel price comparison checks the whole offer. Before sending a rate to an agent, keep these details together:

  • The hotel, check-in and check-out dates, number of guests, and exact room type
  • Whether breakfast, transfers, resort fees, local taxes, and other charges are included
  • The total for the stay and its currency, not only a nightly rate
  • Whether payment is due now or later and when free cancellation ends
  • A link or screenshot of the offer, with the time you checked it

For example, a refundable room with breakfast and a non-refundable room without breakfast are different offers even when the hotel and dates match. Compare the total payable and the terms before choosing. Use the currency shown in each quote; exchange rates and payment-provider charges can change your final cost when paying from the US, UK, Australia, or Canada.

Request a Quote on Desktop or Tablet

Start with an email address and password in Sorom on the web. Complete your basic profile and verify your email when you submit a Price Check request. You can provide the offer details and review agent quotes from your browser.

When a quote works for you, continue with the same account in the Sorom mobile app to complete the reservation. The web app does not take a booking payment. A request is not a confirmed booking; review the agent’s availability, price, and terms before committing.

Why Quotes Can Differ

Quotes may use different suppliers, room conditions or package components. When comparing, ask about:

  • The supplier and exact accommodation or service included
  • Whether a package bundles accommodation, transfers or activities
  • Availability at the time the quote is issued and when it expires
  • Payment timing, refundability and any restrictions attached to the rate

A lower headline price can have different conditions. Compare the complete offer before deciding.

What Can You Price Check?

Price Check isn’t just for hotels. You can submit requests for:

Hotels Found a rate on any booking platform? Submit it. An agent can review the same property or suggest an available alternative. Check whether the room type and conditions match.

Transfers Airport pickups, inter-city transport, group shuttles. Transfer pricing varies wildly, so submit what you’ve been quoted and see if our agents can do better.

Packages Planning a multi-component trip? Submit the package price you’ve found, and our agents may be able to put together a comparable or better bundle.

Free vs. Monthly vs. Annual

You can begin a Price Check request from the desktop/tablet web app or the mobile app. Profile and verification requirements apply. Completing a reservation takes place in the mobile app and may require an eligible plan or points.

Prices and entitlements can vary by country and platform. Review the offer shown in your account before subscribing.

Whichever plan you’re on, payment runs securely through Stripe. When an agent’s quote is due by a later date, you save your card and the payment is charged automatically on that date.

Managing Your Reservations

Once you’ve booked through Price Check, your reservation appears in the app with:

  • Your unique SRM-XXXXXXXX booking reference
  • Full hotel or service details
  • Confirmation numbers
  • Booking policies and terms
  • The option to add the booking to a Sorom itinerary once it’s confirmed

Need to make changes? Tap “Manage Your Trip” on any reservation to submit a change request: a date change, a guest detail update, or a cancellation. Our agents review and process these for you.

Points and Rewards

Eligible bookings may earn points under the rewards terms shown in the mobile app. Check eligibility, expiry and available redemptions before relying on points to fund a future booking.

A reward balance is not cash and does not confirm a reservation.
