ConneXion requests expire after 7 days if not accepted. You will see a countdown timer on users' profile cards so you know when they're about to expire. This keeps the community active and ensures you're connecting with travelers who are currently engaged. If a request expires, you can send a new one (counts against your monthly limit for Free users).
ConneXion requests do not expire for Premium members. Premium members also get unlimited requests.

Yes! Go to Settings > Matching Preferences to customize:
To unmatch: Open the chat with the person, tap the menu icon (three dots) in the top right, and select "Unmatch." This removes the connection and deletes your chat history. You can also unmatch a user from the Active tab of My ConneXions page by tapping the menu icon on their profile card, and selecting "Unmatch."
To block: Same menu, select "Block & Report." Blocked users cannot see your profile, send you requests, or contact you in any way. You can manage blocked users in Settings > Privacy > Blocked Users.
Live ConneXions is a real-time location sharing feature that shows nearby travelers on an interactive map. It's completely opt-in — you choose when to make yourself visible. Start a session, browse nearby travelers, view compatibility scores on their profile preview cards, and connect spontaneously. Only visible to other travelers who are also in an active Live ConneXions session.
Session durations depend on your plan:
All sessions auto-expire at the end of the selected duration. You can end a session early at any time.

Once someone accepts your ConneXion request (or you accept theirs), a chat is automatically created. Go to the Messages tab to find your conversations. We suggest starting with a friendly greeting and mentioning something specific from their profile or your shared travel interests.

All media is encrypted and stored securely. You can also share your Moments directly to chats.
Yes, read receipts are on by default. You'll see a checkmark when your message is delivered and a double checkmark when it's read. You can disable read receipts in Settings > Privacy > Read Receipts. Note: If you turn them off, you also won't see when others read your messages.
To mute: Open the chat, tap the group name at the top, then toggle "Mute Notifications." You can mute for 1 hour, 8 hours, 1 day, or indefinitely.
To leave: Same menu, scroll down and tap "Leave Group." You'll need to be re-invited to rejoin. Note: You cannot leave a group if you're the only admin - transfer admin rights first.
Yes. Long-press on a message you sent and select "Delete." You can choose to delete for yourself only or for everyone in the chat. Messages can be deleted for everyone within 24 hours of sending. After that, you can only delete for yourself.
Go to the Trips tab and tap "Create Itinerary." Enter your destination, travel dates, and give it a name. Then add a budget, specify if it is a group trip or solo trip, and add a description. You can then add items day-by-day including flights,activities, restaurants, accommodations, and transportation. Invite your travel companions to collaborate in real-time.

Invite travel companions to your itinerary by tapping "Invite" and selecting from your matches or sharing a link. The itinerary creator is automatically designated as the group admin. All collaborators can:
The itinerary creator can set permissions to control who can edit vs. view only. If the itinerary creator is a premium member, they can share offline access with up to 3 other members.
When you can't decide between options, create a vote! Add multiple suggestions (e.g., 3 different restaurants) and have collaborators vote on their preferences. All collaborators can see the voting status, who voted on what, and whose votes are still pending. Great for democratic trip planning!
Add expenses to your itinerary and specify who paid and who's splitting the cost. Sorom automatically calculates who owes whom in real time as expenses are added. Supports multiple currencies.
Yes! Tap the share icon on any itinerary to export as:
Tap "Book" on the nav bar. Choose your request type — Hotel, Transfer, or Package. Submit the price you found on any OTA (Booking.com, Expedia, etc.) along with your travel details. Our travel agents will review your request and respond with a matched or better price. Premium users can then complete and pay for their reservation securely.
All payments are processed securely through Stripe. We accept credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover). Free users can submit Price Check requests and browse agent quotes. Premium users can complete reservations and pay through the app. We never store your card details.
5,000 points = 1 year of Premium membership. Premium members also earn 1 point per dollar spent on completed Price Check bookings and can redeem 100 points for a dollar off reservations. Open the app side menu, select "Points" to see your balance and redeem options.
To make changes or cancel a reservation, go to your reservation detail and tap "Manage Your Trip." From there, you can submit change requests (dates, guest details, or cancellation) which are reviewed by our travel agents. Cancellation policies vary by booking and will be clearly displayed before you confirm your reservation.
Once your reservation is confirmed, you'll see a detailed reservation screen with your confirmation number, hotel details, and booking policies. Each booking is assigned a Sorom SRM-XXXXXXXX reference number and a travel supplier confirmation number. You can also tap "Add to Itinerary" to link the booking to your trip plan.
Premium members can add flights by going to any itinerary and tapping "Add Flight." Enter your flight number (e.g., AA1234) and date. We'll automatically pull in departure/arrival times, terminals, and gate information. We are working on implementing an email forwarding option to auto-import your reservations.
Flight data is refreshed every hour. On the day of travel, updates are pushed in real-time when there are changes to gate, departure & arrival times, or flight status.

Maya tracks your confirmed and rejected suggestions over time to build a preference profile. She learns your preferred activity types (museums vs. outdoor adventures), time preferences (morning person vs. night owl), budget patterns, and dining style. The more you interact with Maya, the more personalized her suggestions become.
When Maya wants to make changes to your trip (like adding an activity or modifying your itinerary), she shows you an action preview card first. This card displays exactly what will change, and you decide whether to confirm or dismiss. Nothing is added to your itinerary without your approval — you're always in control.
Maya is available to Premium members with the following daily limits:
Limits reset daily at midnight in your local timezone. Most users find these limits more than sufficient for their planning needs.
Go to Settings > Safety > Emergency Contacts. Add up to 5 trusted contacts with their name, email address, phone number, and relationship. These contacts will be notified if you trigger a panic alert or miss multiple check-ins. They don't need the Sorom app - they'll receive emails and SMS notifications (if you are a premium member).
Schedule check-ins for peace of mind during your trip. Set a time (e.g., "Check in by 10 PM tonight") and Sorom will remind you. If you don't check in within 10 minutes after your scheduled time, we'll send a follow-up. After 2 missed check-ins, your emergency contacts are automatically notified with your last known location.
The panic button (accessible by pressing and holding the SOS button from the Panic screen or via the home screen widget) immediately:
You will get a confirmation prompt when the panic button is triggered. This is to reduce the chance of accidental activation.
When meeting someone from Sorom for the first time in person, generate a Meetup PIN from the active ConneXions user menu. Both parties have to enter the a 4-digit PIN when you meet up. This confirms you're both who you say you are, automatically creates check-ins with your preferred interval, and logs the meetup location. It's optional but highly recommended for first meetings.

Verification is processed by Authenticate (our trusted partner) typically within 24 hours. Your ID documents are encrypted and deleted after verification. Identity verification is optional and only available for Premium members. However, you must first be verified in order to filter ConneXions by verification status.
No. Emergency contacts receive alerts via email and SMS to their phone number. They'll get an email or a text message with your situation and a link to view your last logged location on a map (no app or account required). We recommend letting your emergency contacts know you've added them to Sorom.
Go to the Journal tab and tap the + button. Add photos, write about your experience, tag your location, link an itinerary,and mention travel companions. Journal entries are saved to your trip and can be made public (visible to all Sorom users), shared with matches only, or kept private.
Journals are permanent entries that tell your travel story. They're saved forever and organized by trip.
Moments are ephemeral posts that disappear after 48 hours - like stories. Perfect for sharing quick updates, restaurant recommendations, or real-time travel highlights without cluttering your permanent journal.

Yes! Tap the location icon when creating a post to tag where you are. You can use your current GPS location or search for a place by name. Location tags help other travelers discover great spots and are shown on your trip map.
Interesting Places is a community-driven discovery feature where travelers share hidden gems, unique landmarks, and off-the-beaten-path spots they've found around the world. Think of it as a travel community atlas — browse 12 categories of places on an interactive map, see what fellow travelers have discovered, and contribute your own finds.
Categories include historical sites, street art, viewpoints, hidden cafes, nature spots, local markets, and more.
Tap the map on the Home tab, then tap the + button to submit a new place. Add a name, description, category, location, and at least one photo. Your submission goes through a brief moderation review to ensure quality. You can have up to 5 pending submissions at a time.
All Interesting Places submissions are reviewed by our team to ensure accuracy and quality. If your submission is rejected, you'll receive feedback on why and can resubmit with corrections. Community photos added to existing places are also moderated. Approved places go through an annual re-review cycle.
Yes! You earn 50 Sorom Points for each approved Interesting Places submission. Points can be redeemed for Premium membership (5,000 points = 1 year) or applied as credit toward Price Check reservations.
Yes! When viewing any Interesting Place, tap "Add to Itinerary" to include it as an activity in one of your trip itineraries. This makes it easy to build trips around the hidden gems you discover.
Tap the map on the Home tab to see Interesting Places in your area. Places are clustered on the map for easy browsing — zoom in to see individual pins. You can also browse by category. Tap any place to see details, photos from the community, comments, and how many travelers have visited.
Go to Settings > Account > Change Password. Enter your current password, then your new password twice to confirm.
Go to Settings > Privacy > Profile Visibility and select "Private." With a private account:
Go to Settings > Privacy > Download My Data. We'll compile all your personal data into a downloadable file including your profile info, messages, journal entries, and activity history. Premium is $89.99/year (about $7.50/month). We only offer annual subscriptions because travel planning works best with a long-term horizon. The subscription includes all Premium features and automatically renews each year unless cancelled.
Subscriptions are managed through your device's app store:
You'll keep Premium access until your current billing period ends. We cannot cancel subscriptions on your behalf due to app store policies.
When Premium expires, you'll return to the Free tier:
Your data, matches, and conversations are preserved. You can resubscribe anytime to restore Premium features.
Refund requests are handled by Apple or Google, not by Sorom directly:
Refunds are typically granted within 14 days of purchase if you haven't used Premium features extensively. Each platform has their own refund policies.
