1. Our Commitment to Safety
At Sorom, safety is at the core of everything we build. We understand that connecting with new travel partners requires trust, and we've designed our platform with comprehensive safety features to give you peace of mind while exploring the world together.
This Safety Policy outlines the measures we've implemented to protect our community and the guidelines we expect all users to follow.
2. Built-In Safety Features
Sorom includes multiple layers of safety features designed to protect you before, during, and after meeting travel partners.
GPS Check-ins
Schedule regular check-ins with your emergency contacts. Set intervals from 15 minutes to 4 hours. If you miss a check-in, your emergency contacts are automatically notified with your last known location via email and SMS (Premium users).
Identity Verification
Premium users can complete identity verification through our partner Medallion. Verified users receive a badge visible throughout the app, helping you identify travel partners who have confirmed their identity.
Panic Button
One-tap emergency alert that instantly sends your current location to all your emergency contacts. Available 24/7 within the app for immediate assistance when you need it most.
Meetup PIN Verification
When meeting your travel partner for the first time, use our mutual 6-digit PIN verification system. Both parties must verify the PIN to confirm you're meeting the right person, adding an extra layer of security to in-person meetups.
3. Emergency Contacts
We strongly recommend all users set up emergency contacts within the app. Your emergency contacts can:
- Receive alerts if you miss scheduled check-ins
- Be notified immediately if you use the panic button
- Receive your location information in emergency situations
- Be linked to other Sorom users for easy in-app communication
You can manage your emergency contacts in Settings at any time. Premium users receive SMS notifications in addition to email alerts for faster response times.
4. Community Guidelines
