Deleting Your Sorom Account
We understand that you may want to delete your Sorom account. This page explains what happens when you delete your account, important information to consider, and how to complete the deletion process.
What Happens When You Delete Your Account
When you choose to delete your Sorom account, the following will occur:
- Profile and public activity removal: Your profile picture, bio, travel history, journals, moments, ratings, and all public content will be permanently removed from the platform.
- Personal data elimination: Your personal information including your name, email address, phone number, and any other information you provided will be deleted from our active systems.
- Match and connection data: All your ConneXions matches, chat histories, and travel partner connections will be permanently deleted.
- Itineraries and travel plans: Any saved itineraries, trip plans, and booking references will be removed from your account.
- Premium subscription cancellation: If you have an active Sorom Premium subscription, it will be cancelled. We recommend cancelling your subscription through the App Store or Google Play Store before deleting your account to avoid any billing issues.
- Loss of access: You will lose access to all app features, travel partner matching, exclusive benefits, and accumulated points.
Important Notes
Account deletion is permanent and irreversible. Once your account is deleted, we cannot recover your data, content, matches, or any other information associated with your account.
- Data retention period: After you request deletion, your data will be removed from our active systems within 30 days. Anonymized backup data may be retained for up to 12 months for legal compliance and security purposes.
- Legal obligations: Some anonymized data may be retained to comply with legal requirements, resolve disputes, or enforce our Terms of Use.
- Content shared with others: Messages you sent to other users may still be visible to them, though your profile information will be removed.
- Third-party services: Deletion from Sorom does not affect accounts you may have created with third-party services (like booking confirmations sent to your email).

How to Delete Your Account
Follow these steps to delete your Sorom account:
- Open the Sorom app and sign into your account.
- Go to Settings by tapping on your profile icon in the bottom navigation, then tapping the gear icon in the top right corner.
- Navigate to Account Management by scrolling down and selecting "Account Management" from the settings menu.
- Select "Delete Account" and review the information about what will happen when you delete your account.
- Confirm your decision by following the on-screen prompts. You may be asked to enter your password or verify your identity.
- Receive confirmation - You will receive a confirmation email at your registered email address once your deletion request has been processed.

Before deleting your account, you may want to consider these alternatives:
Export Your Data
You can download a copy of your data before deleting your account. Go to Settings → Account Management → Export Data to request a copy of your journals, photos, itineraries, and other content. Your data export will be prepared and sent to your email address.
Privacy Settings
If privacy is your concern, you can adjust your settings to limit visibility of your profile and content. Go to Settings → Privacy to set your account to private, control who can see your location, or disable product analytics.
